FintechWeek.com used to be the website of Fintech Week London, a yearly event where banks, fintech startups and investors met to talk about where financial services were heading. The event’s site has been offline for several years. The domain now belongs to TMS Outsource, a custom software development company with engineering offices in Belgrade and Bucharest. We have no connection to the event or the people who organized it.
Rather than leave the domain parked, we use this page as a starting point for people who build fintech products. Below you’ll find what fintech development involves in practice, how we approach fintech projects, and the guides we’ve published on payments, security and fintech product design.
What Makes Fintech Software Different
A fintech product can look like any other web or mobile app. Underneath, it moves money, stores sensitive personal data and usually answers to a regulator. Those three things shape the architecture from the first sprint, and they’re expensive to bolt on later.
| Area | What it covers | Why it matters early |
| Payments | Payment gateways, payment service providers, merchant accounts, card issuing | Every flow that moves money needs clear failure states, retries and reconciliation |
| Identity and compliance | KYC and AML checks, audit trails, PSD2 open banking in the EU, PCI DSS for card data | The rules depend on your market and license, and they decide how data is stored and who can see it |
| Security | Encryption, multi-factor authentication, session handling, fraud monitoring | Users judge a finance app on trust before they judge it on features |
| Data | Ledgers, transaction history, market data, reporting | Numbers have to match across every screen, export and statement |
| Interface | Dense financial data, forms, onboarding | People need to act on financial information without second-guessing what they see |
If you’re at the planning stage, What Is Financial Software Development covers the main product types, from banking apps to trading platforms.
How TMS Works on Fintech Projects
TMS has been building custom software since 2014. Fintech is one of the industries we work in most, next to SaaS, healthcare and e-commerce. On fintech projects, that means mobile banking interfaces, payment integrations, KYC flows and an architecture that keeps compliance requirements such as PCI DSS and PSD2 in view from the start.
Two examples of that work:
- CryptoStruct is a market data platform for professional crypto traders. It records and archives data from several exchanges, normalizes their different timestamping schemes into one comparable view, and lets traders check whether their private orders show up in public market activity. We built it with React, PHP, MariaDB and Docker, and it was our first cryptocurrency project, so the work started with domain research before any architecture decisions.
- For a fintech solutions provider in London, we designed, developed and implemented a product hosted on both servers and the cloud, working in two-week sprints. The client’s co-founder described the result on Clutch as a product “now actively used by finance professionals.”
Our teams work from Belgrade and Bucharest for clients across Europe and North America. If you’re scoping a fintech product, our web application development and mobile app development pages explain how a project runs, and you can contact us for a free consultation.
